INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Enugu State has a fully developed Industrials Infrastructure. The Emene Industrial Estate remains the prime Industrial site and there is concerted effort to establish other industrial estates in all the local government areas of the State.
Enugu has a functional International Airport within the Emene Industrial Area. It is interesting to note that the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu has equally started Cargo Operations which will go a long way to enhance economic activities. There is adequate satellite telecommunications and excellent network of the Federal and State highways. There are over 52 industries operating in the state. Three of which are large scale. These include Innoson Motors, Project Development Agency (PRODA) and Nigeria Breweries Plc.
Enugu is fast growing into a mega cosmopolitan industrial and business city with the inflow of major financial and corporate manufacturing concerns.
AGRO & MINERAL RESOURCES
The main agricultural produce in the state are rice, palm produce, cassava, yam, cashew nut and citrus fruits.
The state also has a substantial amount of mineral deposits. Notable among them is coal which earned Enugu the sobriquet: “The Coal City”.
